A nice surprise - 9/6/2011

Decent atmosphere (you'd think they could do more with the space?) solid if not overwhelming drink selection, good service. |

Partially by coincidence, partially by choice, I ended up at Jinx twice tonight. That, alone, suggests it is a worthwhile stop on one's bar-hopping itinerary. The atmosphere isn't outstanding next to Vault, but the drinks are solid and the service better than good. |

Jinx // Magical drinks, kick-A** food - 8/12/2011
Jinx has come a long way. As sister bar to Vault Martini, it finally has its own identity including one of the most delicious menus I've ever encountered in or out of a bar. Their house made focaccia is MONEY. Bacon wrapped, blue cheese stuffed figs? YES. Pulled pork sandwich with blue slaw? AMAZING. Their burger... OFF the hook! Ahi Poke is a standard. PLUS, all of their meats are locally purveyed so you are getting the freshest of the fresh. Drinks are KILLER. My favorites other than their stellarly priced wine selection (and their new Rose') are the Charro and the Deer Hunter. But feel free to ask these mixologists to make you something that is not on the menu. The staff, especially Jillian, Kyle, Kate, and Amanda are amazing. The head chef Lars is happy to discuss the menu anytime and may even try some testing plates on you. You will not be disappointed. Atmosphere is great. It's very down home, more like being in your living room than in a bar. <3 |

Was super busy for First Thursday (5/5)! - 5/6/2011

What a great little place. There was a live DJ and the place was hopping. Not to mention there was outside seating for people watching. A very good location for that, especially on First Thursday. Get there early for a spot outside. And there is a great variety of drinks from your cheap domestic to your fine cocktail. |
